The GIS based Settlement of Land Records in Districts Dir Lower, Dir Upper and Tehsil Kalam (Swat) is the first of its kind not only in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but also in the entire country. This is digitization of Land Records in its true spirit. As it intends to construct each component of the record in digitized format. This includes digitized Tak Bast, digitized Shajra Nasab & Khatoni, digitized Misl e Aqeyat, digitized field book and digitized Massavis. Its means that the descriptive record of rights will be digitally synchronized with the field maps. This will not only be easy to manage but would also solve many issues that exist in partial computerization of land records. However, like any Settlement the role of the local people is very significant. Various modes are being used to engage the local populace. It is expected of the local people to be fully involved in each and every step of record construction. Despite, some operational constraints the entire Project Staff has been performing with exceptional dedication. Owing to this energetic approach significant progress has already been achieved in the first year of the project. The entire project team deserves appreciation for that. We look forward to achieving the set milestones in the second year of the project. With the help of all the stakeholders we will strive to make it a success.
